Hey everybody! Welcome to episode 106 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Robin and Tracy discuss the 2017 Masaaki Yuasa anime film, Lu Over the Wall.

Join them as they discuss the gorgeously manic animation, the mere concept of merdoggies being amazing and why Yuho is absolutely idol material. It's the upbeat joy-filled movie we all need right now more than ever.

Thank you so much for listening and we hope you dig this one. Please subscribe to us on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, Podbean or anywhere you get your podcasts. If you have any requests or questions, find us on Twitter or Instagram.

Hey everybody! Welcome to episode 105 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, we talk about the 2006 Animal Crossing anime film. Released around the time of Animal Crossing Wild World, this fun little movie features homages to many of the mechanics in Animal Crossing, including several that are no longer a part of the game.

Join us as we discuss the confusing cherry pie metaphor, K.K. Slider’s voice before singing and our favorite shipwrecked sea gull as an astronaut.

It's a fun little slice of life movie about making friends and, in some ways, learning to deal with difficult emotions. It's a neat little time, so we hope you enjoy this episode!

Hello everybody! Welcome to episode 104 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast. This week, Tracy and Robin discuss the 2020 Netflix CGI animated film, The Willoughbys.

Join them as they discuss the disgustingly PDA laden relationship of the parents, the sheer delights of Terry Crews' character design and the strikingly split reviews on IMDB from parents. I guess it's inevitable once parental murder is on the table, especially in an animated film. Or they're just prudes, lol.

Hey everybody! Welcome to episode 103 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Tracy and Robin review the most unnecessary unauthorized non-Disney sequel, Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night.

Join them as they discuss the blatant story knockoffs of the Disney classic, the unfortunate lingering 'stranger danger' energy and how they managed to put in so much padding within only an 86 minute runtime. We had a confusing but fun journey reviewing this movie and hope you enjoy this review!

Hey everybody! Welcome to episode 102 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Robin and Tracy are joined by friend of the show, John Werning (@JTAW3), to talk about the 2019 Studio Trigger anime film, Promare.

Join them as they break down the Studio Trigger trope checklist, Lio's unfortunate sexual attraction to idiots and the most satisfying "now kiss" moment in recent history. We adored this film and hope you enjoy this review.

Hey everybody! Welcome to episode 101 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Robin and Tracy are joined by recurring guest/friend of the show, Jacob Davison (@jacobdavison_) to discuss season 2 of Infinity Train, the fantastical sci-fi show on Cartoon Network.

Join them as they discuss Mirror Tulip's badass makeover, the powerful existential arc themes and the rather liberal use of PG-rated body horror. David Cronenberg has taught them well!

Well guys, it's finally come to this. We've made it to Episode 100 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! So to celebrate, we're doing it to the most suitable scale possible - by talking about Katsuhiro Otomo's 1988 masterpiece, Akira! We're joined by friends of the show and just straight-up awesome people, Angus Beer and Meekly Sheepling!

Join us as we discuss the grotesquely beautiful aesthetic of Neo Tokyo, Kaneda's tendency to destroy perfectly good motorcycles and our hopes for a possible live action adaptation. (Fingers crossed for a Guillermo Del Toro guest direction scene!) Do not do a drinking game to this movie with them saying each other's names. You WILL die and we assume no liability.

We hope you enjoy this episode and thank you for listening! Please subscribe to us on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, Podbean or anywhere you get your podcasts. If you have any requests or questions, find us on Twitter/Instagram or on the show website.

Hey everybody! Welcome to episode 99 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Robin and Tracy talk about the 1988 technological marvel animated film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Join them as they discuss the groundbreaking animation/live action technique, Jessica Rabbit's possible asexuality theory and sharing mutual nightmares of Judge Doom played by the delightfully hammy Christopher Lloyd.

This film was directed by Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future), animation directed by Richard Williams (The Thief and the Cobbler) and produced by Steven Spielberg (c'mon, you know who he is). And yes, it's as great as it sounds. Go watch it already!

Hey everyone! Welcome to episode 98 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Tracy and Robin review the 1990 animated feature from the television studio wing of Disney, Ducktales - Treasure of the Lost Lamp! This movie is a bit of wild ride but also a hell of a lot of fun. Join them as they discuss the ethics of interacting with genies, the villain’s questionable choices of animal transformations and Launchpad as the himbo we didn’t know need but deserve. Give it a listen!

Hello everybody! Welcome to episode 96 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Tracy and Robin review the 1989 Japanese film, Little Nemo - Adventures in Slumberland.

The least confusing thing about this movie is its delayed American release in 1992. The most? Pretty much everything relating to the production. From being stuck in development hell to scaring off a truly nightmarish amount of A-List talent, what remains is a whimsical but puzzling mess. At least we can all agree that Bon-Bon is the best clown girl!

Hello everybody! Welcome to episode 94 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast. Robin was out this week due to illness but we have a special guest, Jacob Davison (iHorror.com), joining in for such a niche topic!

Join Tracy and Jacob as they discuss the following episodes dealing with animated depictions of cults and their real world parallels/accuracy to real cult manipulation tactics:

- The Case of the Cola Cult, Rescue Rangers (Season 2, Ep 14)

- Schnit Heads, Rocko's Modern Life (Season 3, Ep 2B)

-The Joy of Sect, The Simpsons (Season 9, Ep 13)

- Fun with Jane and Jane, King of the Hill (Season 6, Ep 17)

Oddly specific? Sure. Surprisingly common in animation? You better believe it! (Not in a threatening way! Skeptics welcome here!)

This week, they review the first half of the final sixth season of Bojack Horseman.  Listen in as they discuss Bojack actually being a decent person for most of this season (shockingly!), Chicago as Diane's next destination and predictions for how the series will end. It's a doozy of a ride and we had a great time discussing it.

Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktakular is a 2003 animated adaptation of Jill Thompson's comics and children's books. It follows the story of Hannah as she learns to not be so afraid of monsters. It's a lot of fun and Charlotte and Robbie had a great time with it! Give it a listen!

Created by Owen Dennis, a former storyboard artist for Regular show, Infinity Train's pilot was released back in 2016 and had us both jonesin' for more. Hey everybody! Welcome to episode 86 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Robbie and Tracy review the 1973 Hanna Barbera animated film, Charlotte's Web, based on the classic novel by E.B. White.

Join us as we discuss Templeton being the biggest mood character ever, delivering capital punishment with a capital penis and how we're glad this movie doesn't sugarcoat death but doesn't dismiss it either. Don't Google 'Templeton inflation porn', for the love of God. Honestly, you don't even need to - it's in the movie already! (YOU'RE SICK, HANNA BARBERA!)

Hey everybody! Welcome to episode 85 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Tracy and Robbie are joined by Mia Marchant (Cynical Cartoons podcast) to discuss the 2010 Zack Synder directed film, Legend of the Guardians - The Owls of Ga'Hoole. This strikingly animated and strange film follows a band of young owls who rise up against the unambiguously fascist-inspired Tyto owls, known as the Pure Ones. (Okay guys, we get it - subtlety isn't your forte!)

Listen in as they discuss why naming your child Kludd will make them resent/hate/murder you, Zack's Synderisms and how every owl apparently has at least an associate's degree in metal working. It's a point of contention that Tracy cannot get past. So do they hit it with their faces? Do they have baby-sized hammers? How did they learn to emboss metal?!

Hey everybody! Welcome to episode 83 of the Not Joanna Eggs podcast! This week, Robbie and Tracy review the 2006 rotoscoped animated film, A Scanner Darkly.

Based on the novel by Philip K Dick, this surreal film follows Bob Arctor, an undercover cop trying to locate the kingpin of a highly addictive drug known as Substance D permeating Anaheim, CA.

We examine the semi-autobiographical nature of the story, Woody Harrelson's amazingly silly wig and how in the blue blazes Alex Jones was involved with this movie (yes, gay-frog-conspiracy-theorist turned meme-lord Alex Jones). Also, the exact amount of movie time to skip to make Venom enjoyable!
